MuseionArt Photographer Spotlight: MATEUSZ MOLASY

The moment I knew that Christian A. Dumais’ book Empty Rooms, Lonely Countries was something special was pretty much the moment I saw the cover photograph.  Artists and photographers are often the unsung heroes and heroines of the publishing industry.  If you are drawn to a book – or CD or comic – it’s safe to say the cover art played a role in bringing you there.

I know nothing about Mr. Molasy other than to browse his photo gallery on his website.  But as is often with artists, this can be more intimate a knowing than idle chitchat or a 100-word blurb.

Time and again, Molasy’s pictures reveal his deep affection for the world he sees, and with every frame I just want to jump in there and experience it for myself.  Sometimes lush and colorful, other times gray and meditative, his images are always an emotional experience.

Go have a look.
